Roughage as a source of mycotoxins
Even feed that looks or smells fine can contain hidden moulds and mycotoxins. Horses can ingest or inhale these toxins from hay, bedding, or concentrates. Once in the bloodstream, mycotoxins can spread throughout the body and cause a range of vague health issues — from digestive and respiratory problems to weight loss and behavioural changes.
How does Pavo ToxiSave work?
Pavo ToxiSave acts as a mycotoxin binder, containing ingredients that attach to the toxins in the gut. Once bound, the toxins are safely excreted through the manure instead of being absorbed into the bloodstream. Additionally, Pavo ToxiSave includes ingredients that support liver health, immune function, and digestive balance, aiding recovery and resilience.
Important to note
While Pavo ToxiSave helps minimize the effects of mycotoxins, it cannot replace good-quality feed. If you see or smell mould in roughage or bedding, remove the affected parts immediately—or discard the entire bale if contamination is widespread.
